Extranodal Rosai-Dorfman disease involving the pulmonary artery.

چکیده
A 61-year-old woman underwent computed tomography (CT) angiography for evaluation of syncope and was found to have a central pulmonary artery filling defect (Fig. 1). During an attempted intravascular ultrasound-guided biopsy of the lesion, the patient coded and died. Autopsy confirmed the case as a rare presentation of Rosai-Dorfman disease (Fig. 2 and Supplementary Figs 1 and 2). Supplementary material is available at EJCTS online. Figure 1: CT angiogram (an axial view at the level of carina) showing a large filling defect within the main pulmonary artery. Figure 2: An explanted heart–lung block (a dorsal view with pulmonary trunk cut open) revealing a 6.4 × 3.2 × 3.0 cm, tan, well-circumscribed lesion with the pulmonary trunk.

CRDD: cutaneous Rosai-Dorfman disease RDD: Rosai-Dorfman disease INTRODUCTION Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) is a benign nonLangerhans cell histiocytic disorder often involving the cervical lymph nodes. Extranodal disease was reported in 43% of patients with RDD in a review of the literature, with the skin reported to be the most common extranodal site. In the absence of lymph node involvement, RD...

Rosai-Dorfman disease is a rare, benign histiocytic proliferative disorder that usually affects the lymph nodes. Although extranodal involvement has been reported in diverse sites, manifestation in the cardiovascular system is extremely rare. Specifically, cardiac involvement in Rosai-Dorfman disease is an extraordinarily infrequent event. We describe a case of a 36-year-old female who presente...

Rosai-Dorfman disease is a rare condition of marrow hematopoietic stem-cell origin. Patients can show extranodal involvement as well as lymphatic involvement, but only about 5% of extranodal cases involve intracranial lesions. A 53-year-old male was admitted to our hospital with bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy. Intracranial tumors and bone lesions were also detected. Cervical lymph node biop...

We share our experience with serial PET/CT imaging on a patient with extranodal Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) with hepatopancreatic involvement. RDD is a benign proliferative disorder of histiocytes mainly involving the lymph nodes. It typically presents with fever and painless cervical lymphadenopathy in young adults and less than half of RDS cases demonstrate extranodal involvement. RDD involve...
